Dear Upper Dublin High School Community:
What a difference a year makes! Last summer, several of the staff and I watched as the west wing of the high school came tumbling down. The brick, concrete and metal girders were sorted and then sold for salvage or ground up to reuse in the new building. It is amazing to look at the progress made since last summer. The “new” high school is no longer a dream on the drafting table, but a marvelous structure that will be occupied soon. Gym classes and athletic events should start this December/January in the new athletic wing. This December, the current library will be relocated to the east gym, the structure will be torn down and the steel will be erected to continue with the classroom and auditorium phase of the building.
Administrative updates
This new school year has also brought changes to my administrative team. Dr. Callahan will be handling all of the club activities and assemblies as well as discipline for Grade 11. A new face, Mrs. Stephanie Hultquist, will be the acting assistant principal for grades 9 and 10 as well as the Eastern Arts and Technology students and the work co-op program. Mrs. Hultquist was the “Classrooms For the Future” trainer at the high school for the past two years and was instrumental in helping to bring technology to every classroom. Mr. Baker will be handling the master schedule and discipline for Grade 12.
Online news
The website page for the high school will be getting a new and fresh look and several important changes. I ask that you please check it out and let me know your thoughts.
I am also asking that, if you haven’t already, please sign-up for eNotify emails. The district's website provides instructions on how to register. During the school year I will use eNotify to send important information and dates about meetings and activities at the high school.
Thanks for your support of the School District of Upper Dublin. If you have any comments or questions, please e-mail me at crittenh@udsd.org.
